UBA contributes N500 million to enhance security efforts in Lagos State.

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has contributed N500 million to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) to support the state’s security initiatives. Tony Elumelu, UBA’s Group Chairman, presented the cheque to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the State House in Marina. The governor appreciated the donation, emphasizing its importance in enhancing security and protecting citizens. This partnership between UBA and the government highlights the joint efforts to address urban safety challenges and promote economic growth.

Elumelu mentioned that the donation reflects UBA Foundation’s commitment to addressing social issues, acknowledging the critical role of security in economic development and societal well-being. The bank’s focus on education, environment, and economic empowerment across Africa aligns with its mission to create safer communities and attract investment.

Private sector involvement, as argued by security experts, is crucial in addressing urban safety challenges. UBA’s significant contribution provides essential resources to support Lagos State government’s security initiatives, setting a precedent for corporate-government partnerships in enhancing public safety.
