Job Title: Winder-Fitter (EMS)
Location: Lagos

Responsibilities
Dismantle, rewind, reassemble and testing of conventional single phase and three phase and small AC/DC motors, and associated equipment including pumps and gearboxes.
Carry out incoming inspections of electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions to set procedures
Document all relevant data specific to unit’s electro-magnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability.
Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, or unusual conditions.
Operate specialised repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, bake ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, and various hand held power and non-power tools.
Complete required paperwork (including photography) for each job accurately and on a timely basis
Execute all work in an efficient, professional and timely manner
Report any defective or warranty workmanship in a timely manner.
Ensure that all time sheets and stores requisition sheets are checked and signed off correctly and in the accepted timeline.
Ensuring all work meets the appropriate standards and quality control criteria as set out by the company.
Adhere to Health and Safety responsibilities at all times including GPR 5 Annex E, and follow all appropriate procedures and use the appropriate protective equipment.
Ensure that risks and hazards in activities undertaken in the role are acknowledged and conducted in accordance with processes, procedure and measures in place to mitigate risks
Be familiar with environmental aspects of activities undertaken in the role and the procedures and processes underpinning.
Ensure that the work, including tooling and equipment, is kept clean and tidy in accordance with company initiatives such as LEAN and in accordance with health and safety requirements.
EX certified to work on explosion proof motors preferably at responsible person level
Offshore experience
Able to carry out preventive maintenance electrical and mechanical inspections on large generators (10-40 MW)
Any other duties commensurate with your skills, knowledge and experience.
Requirements
A recognised Electrical engineering, or electrical machine repair and rewinds apprenticeship, or equivalent
Previous demonstrable experience of dismantling, rewinding, assembling and testing of AC/DC motors
Experience with working with all types of mechanical (electrical – motor components) rotating equipment.
Previous demonstrable experience within a mechanical (electrical) workshop environment
Knowledge of health and safety requirements
Full and valid driving license is preferred
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
Adherence to company standards and procedures
Numerate, methodical and practical skills are essential
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
