B – BRAUN, From Germany Produces Dialysis Machine with the following features:

(1)   Base: – For storing concentrate canisters.

(2)   Heparin Pump: – Allows the addition of heparin to the extracorporeal  blood circuit.

(3)   Venous tubing Shut – off Clamp: - An electrically driven rotary magnet that interrupts the flow of blood to the patient in the event of an air alarm or in single – needle mode.

(4)   Safety air detector (SAD) and Red sensor: - An ultrasound – based safety element that triggers the unit alarm and sequential circuits which render the unit safe in the event that air is detected in the venous blood line to the patient, or micro air bubbles are detected in the blood.

(5)   Holder for venous drip Chamber.

(6)   Disk Drive: - Disk drive for 3.5’’ floppy disks. Patient data, dialysis data and patient specific settings can be stored on disk and loaded into the machine as necessary.

(7)   Pressure measuring connection for venous return pressure: - If the pressure is changed intentionally  by altering the blood pump settings, the alarm window is adjusted automatically. In SN Mode, the venous pressure serves as the control pressure for the blood pump and the venous tubing clamp.

(8)   Pressure measuring  connection for the arterial supply pressure: - Serves to monitor the pressure conditions between needle and blood pump.

(9)   Keypad: - Keypad buttons for setting the blood pump delivery rate.

(10)                       Alarm: - Pressing the alarm button once mutes the alarm. After the problem is corrected, press once again to reset the alarm and continue treatment. The Enter button is used to confirm a response to messages, and saves set parameters.

(11)                       SN Pump(Optional): - For the single – needle procedure with double pumps.

(12)                       ABPM (Optional): - Non-invasive blood pressure measurement. You can choose between cyclic or manual measurement. The measured value are stored during dialysis.

(13)                       Connection for central concentrate supply (Optional): - Allows to choose between canister and central supply of concentrates.

(14)                       ECG (Optional): - The rhythm strip is displayed on the monitor.

(15)                       Arterial blood inlet pressure to the dialyzer.
