Cosmas Iwueze, a former Chevron employee, appointed as director by Oando



Oando PLC has named Cosmas Iwueze as an independent non-executive director, bringing extensive expertise in the petroleum industry to the leadership team. Iwueze, who recently retired from Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) after serving in various senior leadership roles, will officially assume his new role on December 16, 2024. With over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, Iwueze brings valuable strategic and operational knowledge to Oando’s board.

During his time at Chevron, Iwueze held key positions such as Business Services Director for Nigeria and Mid-Africa, as well as Director of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture. His accomplishments include securing third-party financing for joint venture projects and contributing to the development of national petroleum policies during a government secondment.

With international experience in Nigeria, Angola, and California, Iwueze has a deep understanding of global energy markets. His responsibilities at Chevron included managing complex operations across reservoir management, commercial development, and business strategy.
